We would like to announce a possible swelling to its ranks in the form of two new babies. Kay and Kevin Pecks first son Alex George arrived on 26th February weighing in at 6lb 9oz. Gill and Jed’s second child Angus Longstone Mays came a few days later on the 28th February and weighed 3lb 14oz.  Babies, mothers and fathers are all doing well.   Our congratulations go out to them all and we wish them all the very best for what may turn out to be a very busy year. Initial signs are that Alex will follow his mother’s footsteps and become a cornet player however Angus will need to grow much longer arms before he can sit on the Trombone bench with his Mum. However Kay would like to apologise to the band for missing a band practice on the Sunday she gave birth as this did not fall into the work or sickness rule but returned to the band the following practise after missing just the one.  Our chairman accepted her apology but pointed out that he hoped this was not a worrying trend with the ladies in the band, he would be talking to them about trying to plan their births away from the contesting season if at all possible.
