Welcome to the Barton Town Band

The Pavilion Gardens Complex, Buxton Derbyshire

Well what can I say
eighth form a strong
field of twelve, not the
result we were looking
for but none the less
eighth we remain.
Many reasons can be
given as to why we did
not finish further up in
the field but at the end
of the day it is down to
the man in the box
with his biro, score
cards & bucket of sand

In retrospect we played
well and no one let the
team down the
adjudicator’s
comments were all
about the basics but
noting really about our
interpretation of the
piece, and Call of the
Sea is a much tougher
test piece than we
could have chosen but
progress does not
come from standing still.

No one of the band is
ashamed with our
perfomance as a heavy
musical diary prevented
a single minded effort
on this piece as was the
case with our success
in the Regional Finals,
but we were all
disappointed.

Throughout the journey
home however spirits
were not tainted overly
and merriments were
still abound.

A great deal of
experience on the
contest stage was
gained form this
performance by
everyone in the band,
which will make the team
much stronger for the
finals.
